The Florida Panthers compete in the Southeast Division of the National Hockey League. They joined the league in 1993, and have been known as a highly competitive team ever since. Even though they have not had as much success as some other teams, they are well on their way to getting there.

The Panthers play their home games at the BB&T Center. This venue opened in 1998, and fans were greatly anticipating its arrival. And ever since the first Panthers game, fans have been coming back time and time again. They are the ones who make the experience great for everybody involved. And of course, the players also appreciate the modern venue as well.

The Panthers managed to win their conference in 1996, but were knocked off in the Stanley Cup Finals by the Colorado Avalanche. Although they have yet to win their division or the Stanley Cup, the Panthers have been competitive year in and year out.

Many great players have competed for the Panthers. Some of the most well known include Scott Mellanby, Olli Jokinen, Pavel Bure, and Brian Skrudland among many others.

If you are a Florida Panthers fan you are in for a lot of fun in the near future. The franchise is on their way to the top, and it will be a great ride for everybody involved.

The Florida Panthers of the NHL are the only full time tenant of the BB&T Center at this time. In the past the Florida Pit Bulls of the ABA and the Florida Bobcats of the AFL also called this arena home. But even though it only has one major tenant, the BB&T Center does not have a hard time staying busy throughout the course of the year.

For hockey games the BB&T Center can seat a little over 19,000 people making it one of the biggest venues in the entire NHL. This number increases to more than 20,000 for basketball games and other events such as concerts.

Although sporting events are most popular at the BB&T Center, circuses, concerts, and trade shows are also quite common inside. Many well known performers such as The Who and Barbara Streisand have stopped by the BB&T Center for a show.

This arena is one of the most modern and advanced in the country. And with more than 70 suites and nearly 2,300 club seats, there are plenty of options for any fan.

With so much to offer it is easy to see why the BB&T Center is always crowded no matter what time of year it may be. It is safe to say that this venue will be serving the public for many years to come.
