Blues and country rock singer-songwriter Delbert McClinton has been a sideman in musical projects since 1962 and a band leader since 1972, recording albums for major record labels and producing hit singles. His highest-charting song is “Tell Me About It,” a 1992 duet with Tanya Tucker which peaked at number four on the Hot Country Songs charts. His second-biggest hit is the pop song “Giving It Up for Your Love,” released in the 1980s and topping at number eight on the Hot 100. In 2011, McClinton was inducted into the Texas Heritage Songwriters Hall of Fame. He has 28 albums to his name and continues to be an influential songwriter and musician in his genre.
