The Xfinity Center formerly Comcast Center is located in College Park, Maryland, and serves as the home court for the University of Maryland Terrapins men's and women's basketball teams. Many people also refer to this venue as "The House that Gary Built." This pays homage to legendary coach Gary Williams who is still leading the men's basketball program.
Xfinity Center opened in October of 2002. As you can imagine, this makes the arena one of the newest in the ACC. In fact, it is one of the newest venues in all of college basketball. For this reason, the Xfinity Center offers many of the modern updates and amenities that players and fans have come to expect.
The seating capacity at the Xfinity Center is 17,950. This is among the largest venues in the conference, and for this reason, it can really get hopping when the Terrapins take to the floor.
