Security at Circuit of The Americas

Security at Circuit of The Americas is taken very seriously. All guests are required to go through security checks before entering the venue. Typically, security checkpoints tend to get longer as you get closer to the start time of the event. We recommend planning ahead so you don’t miss anything. Please note that Circuit of The Americas has a strict bag policy.

Circuit of The Americas Bag Policy & Prohibited Items

Attendees are advised that bags must adhere to specific size restrictions, not exceeding 12 x 12 x 20 inches, and are subject to security screening by personnel at Circuit of The Americas (COTA). Utilizing the innovative CEIA OpenGate™ Detection Systems for screenings, the venue allows items to remain in bags, reducing entry wait times. Exceptions for necessary medical items are possible after a thorough inspection at entry, while Camelback backpacks are permitted but must be empty upon arrival. Prohibited items, including coolers, briefcases, and bags exceeding the specified size, can be checked at designated Bag Check locations throughout COTA, including Main Grandstand, Grand Plaza, Turn 3, and Turn 6. Bag check incurs a non-refundable charge, payable only through cashless means, opening simultaneously with gates and closing 30 minutes after gates shut. Please note that tripods, bipods, and monopods are not permitted. Also, portable, collapsible chairs, sunscreen (in plastic bottles only, no aerosol cans), and small, hand-held umbrellas are allowed. Unclaimed bags at closing are transferred to Lost and Found. For Super Stage Concert Floor Upgrade Seating and Super Stage Loge Boxes, specific bags like a large storage bag, clear tote, or small clutch are allowed, with all other bags prohibited within the concert area.

The Circuit allows the following items within its gates:
  • Baby strollers
  • Binoculars
  • Blankets
  • Camelbacks (must be empty)
  • One 20oz factory-sealed water bottle per guest
  • Personal camera equipment (e.g., digital cameras, detachable lenses, point-and-click digital cameras)
