Getting into Chase Field

Want to ensure a smooth entry to Chase Field? We've got you covered! From security to accessibility, we've compiled all the info you need for a hassle-free arrival.

Security at Chase Field

Security at Chase Field is taken very seriously. All guests are required to go through security checks before entering the venue. Typically, security checkpoints tend to get longer as you get closer to the start time of the event. We recommend planning ahead so you don’t miss anything. Please note that Chase Field has a strict bag policy.

Chase Field Bag Policy & Prohibited Items

The Clear Bag Policy helps keep visitors safe and allows easy entry during all events. Fans can bring one clear bag, either plastic, vinyl, or PVC, no bigger than 12" x 6" x 12", or a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag. A small clutch purse, up to 4.5" x 6.5", is also allowed but may be checked at entry. Any small clutch bags or wallets within your clear tote bag must adhere to the size above restrictions. Seat cushions without zippers or concealable areas are permitted but must not exceed 18" in width. Clothing and blankets can be brought in if carried loosely or placed in an approved clear bag.

What to Bring to Chase Field

When you come to an event at Chase Field, make sure to bring your ticket and a valid ID, especially if you intend to purchase alcohol. We recommend bringing a credit or debit card and also some cash. Because this is a venue with a retractable roof, it can get a little cold during the winter months (and sometimes year round) if the roof is not closed. So, we recommend checking the weather report and to consider bringing extra layers and maybe even a blanket. Plus, it might be worth it to carry a rain jacket or poncho just in case the weather changes.

Is Chase Field ADA Accessible?

Chase Field is committed to providing a comfortable experience for all guests. Assistive listening is available, and so is sensory accessibility. The venue is ADA compliant, too. Typically, Chase Field has special seating and preferred entry gates for these patrons. Be sure to check the policy for your specific event for more information.

Chase Field Experience

Your experience at Chase Field extends beyond the event itself. Discover delicious food and drinks, convenient transportation options, and more to create an unforgettable memory.

Food and Beverage at Chase Field

Chase Field offers a tempting selection of food and drinks. From refreshing non-alcoholic beverages to drinks like beer, hard seltzer, mixed drinks and wine, and an assortment of food and snacks, you'll be sure to find something to satisfy your taste buds.

Payment Methods Accepted at Chase Field

Chase Field primarily operates on a cashless basis. This implies that while some vendors may still accept cash, most onsite purchases are done with digital wallets or debit and credit cards. Although Chase Field accepts most credit cards (such as Visa and Mastercard), it is prudent to carry a small amount of cash for tipping and for the few vendors that might accept it inside and outside the venue.

Are There Phone Charging Stations at Chase Field?

Yes, Chase Field is equipped with phone charging stations throughout. They are usually located in the concourse. However, it’s important to note that these charging stations may require a small fee, so we suggest fully charging your device before arriving at the venue.

Chase Field, home of the MLB’s Arizona Diamondbacks, is all about exceeding expectations. Before the stadium was built in 1998, many Arizona locals didn’t think their city would ever be able to host an MLB team. It was just too hot—temperatures during the regular season averaged around 99 degrees Fahrenheit and could climb much higher during the peak of summer. To compensate, Chase Field was equipped with a massive cooling system and retractable roof.

The ballpark hosts many other events including rodeos, college basketball and football, monster truck rallies, international soccer games and motocross races. A dozen or so concerts have taken place at the venue, including performances by Kenny Chesney, Joan Jett and Black Sabbath.

The ballpark is completely accessible and can welcome nearly 49,000 fans for Diamondbacks games. Concession stands offering a range of options are scattered throughout the stadium, and they won’t break the bank—Chase Field has recorded the lowest Fan Cost Index in the MLB multiple times. Fans can also bring in their own food, as long as it’s stored in a small, transparent plastic bag. Sealed water bottles, juice boxes and baby formula are also allowed. Items like hard-sided containers, outside alcohol, masks, professional camera equipment, umbrellas and noisemakers are prohibited.

The park is right in downtown Phoenix, so there’s plenty to do nearby. Family-friendly attractions like the Arizona Science Center and the Children’s Museum of Phoenix are a quick walk away, and there are dozens of hotels close by as well. Drivers will find several parking lots and garages in the vicinity, while commuters can access the park via the Washington and 3rd Street stations on the METRO rail network.
