Charlotte Hornets Information:

The Charlotte Hornets compete in the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association. The Hornets were originally founded in 1988, before moving to New Orleans in 2002. In 2004, the NBA established a new expansion team in Charlotte called the Bobcats. The Bobcats name stuck until 2013, when New Orleans rebranded to the Pelicans, which returned the Hornets name and history back to Charlotte. In 2014, Charlotte officially adopted the Hornets name.

The Hornets play their home games at Spectrum Center. This venue opened in 2005 as the Charlotte Bobcats Arena, and is one of the most modern in the entire league. Both players and fans love what this new arena has to offer. It is safe to say that this is going to help the Hornets to take their success to the next level.

Since the Hornets have only recently debuted, they have yet to make their mark as far as winning is concerned. But with an ownership group, including former NBA great Michael Jordan, the Hornets winning days are right around the corner.

The Hornets have not had a lot of time to sign great players. But even then, they have a solid group at this time. Some of the more popular Hornets include Derek Anderson, Sean May, Emeka Okafor, Raymond Felton, and many more.

The Charlotte Hornets franchise is on the up and up. Once they establish themselves a bit more they are sure to make some noise in the Eastern Conference.

Spectrum Center Information:

Spectrum Center opened its doors in 2005, and is known to be one of the most modern venues in the entire country. This 18,500 seat indoor arena plays host to hundreds of sporting events, shows, and concerts each and every year. Although Spectrum Center is new to the area, people from all over have begun to take notice of just how much it has to offer.

There are several primary tenants that call Spectrum Center home. They include the Charlotte Hornets of the NBA and the Charlotte Checkers of the ECHL. The University of North Carolina Charlotte men's and women's basketball teams also play home games at the Spectrum Center every so often.

In addition to top notch sporting events, Spectrum Center also hosts many great concerts and shows on a regular basis. In fact, the first event ever at this venue was a concert by The Rolling Stones in October 2005. Other popular concerts in the past include U2, Aerosmith, Clay Aiken, Dolly Parton, Bon Jovi and many more. The first sporting event took place a month after the Stones performance when the Charlotte Bobcats played their first home game in the arena.

Located in uptown Charlotte, North Carolina, the modern features are not rivaled by many other venues in the United States. One such example is the 16 foot by 28 foot Daktronics video screen that is hanging from the center of the ceiling. This is the largest video screen in any indoor arena in the world.

It is safe to say that Spectrum Center will be hosting great events for many years to come. Anybody who ever has the opportunity to step foot inside of this arena for an event should take advantage.
