If you’re looking to take a trip back to the mid-80s this summer, then look no further than the “Poison…Nothin' But a Good Time Tour" as the iconic rock band teams up with another legendary American group, Cheap Trick.
The tour will begin on May 18 at the Five Points Amphitheatre in Irvine, Calif., and wrap at the PPL Center in Allentown, Pa., on Jun 24. The tour has something for all rock fans, from Poison's hair-metal antics to Cheap Trick's classic power pop.
Different, Yet Similar
Like Chicago and REO Speedwagon, the differences in style between these two bands won’t spoil the concert fun for their respective fans. Poison and Cheap Trick are both immensely popular touring bands and should provide one of the most entertaining summer pairings.
Bret Michaels said in a press release earlier on Tuesday, “The all-original Poison is headlining again this summer,". "It’s going to be a mega concert and party combined. We will be playing all the hits and bringing high energy rock 'n' roll good times. I promise this will be awesome.
He went on to say, “My friends Cheap Trick and Pop Evil will be joining us as well as some special guests on select dates. Again, I know all the bands with all the hits will be giving 1,000 percent!!!”
"Another Poison/Cheap Trick tour!!!" Cheap Trick's Rick Nielsen chimed in. "It’s always been fun with these guys!"
Poison and Cheap Trick have sold over 65 million records between them as well as nearly 100 total albums. Cheap Trick was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2016. The bands 16th and most recent studio album, The Latest, was released in the summer of 2009.
Poison have sold over 45 million records and charted ten singles to the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100, including six Top 10 singles and the Hot 100 number-one, "Every Rose Has Its Thorn.”.
