Who are Wilco?
Chicago-based alt rock outfit Wilco emerged in 1994, formed by the remaining members of alt-country band Uncle Tupelo. Boasting a sound and style influenced by a wide array of artists and styles, Wilco has in turned influenced several modern and alternative rock acts. Carrying over the alt-country style of Uncle Tupelo, the group released their debut album A.M. in 1995. Wilco’s subsequent releases marked a shift in musical direction, drawing on elements of alt-rock, classic pop, and introducing more experimental aspects. The group has since released nine additional studio albums, including their two-time Grammy-winning fifth album, A Ghost is Born (2004).
