1. Classic Grooves: Eagles, Fleetwood Mac and More
New York City
Grooving is best done to the beat of the classics. Enter The Classic East, a two-day fest featuring such giants as the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Journey, Steely Dan, the Doobie Brothers, Earth, Wind & Fire, and more. It all happens July 29-30 at New York's Citi Field, home of the New York Mets.
2. British Invasion: Retro Futura Tour
If there's one era of music that can make the masses dance, it's the 1980s. And all the better when the music comes from across the pond. So the lineup heading to Charlotte, N.C. at the Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre, on July 29 is a must-see for all fancy feet in the area. The Retro Futura tour includes English hitmaker Howard Jones (“Things Can Only Get Better”), UK ska rockers the English Beat, English post-punkers Modern English, and Katrina Leskanich, an American who was formerly the frontwoman of British pop-rockers Katrina & the Waves.
3. Alternative Mosh Up: Incubus with Jimmy Eat World
Rock out like it's 1994 with Incubus at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre, which is right outside of the Windy City. The rockers will be joined by more mid-’90s flashbacks, Jimmy Eat World, who are still kickin' after all these years with consistent releases. Their ninth album, “Integrity Blues,” dropped last fall. Also joining the lineup is Nashville's Judah & the Lion, who'll draw the younger crowd with their uber-danceable folk hop 'n' roll. And with the venue being an amphitheater, concertgoers can simultaneously celebrate the summer. It’s all happening July 29 starting at 6:45 pm.
