Phish have announced their first U.S. shows of 2019, bringing the revered jam band to a city near you this summer!
The 2019 summer tour kicks off with a pair of shows at the Chafeitz Arena in St. Louis, MO from June 11-12 before heading out to make stops in cities like Columbia, Saratoga Springs, Boston, and East Troy. They’ll wrap things up with a three-day stint at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, CO from August 30 – September 1.
Keeping true to tradition, the jam legends will be playing their standard multi-night shows in several of the stops on the lineup, providing fans with plenty of opportunities to get in on all the action.
Along the way, the guys will make a pit stop at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival where they’re slotted to play three sets, including a double-headlining performance to close out the festival on June 16.
Who Is Phish?
Phish first stepped on to the scene in 1988, drawing on elements of eclectic rock, country, folk, and bluegrass with a playing style heavily rooted in jazz improvisation. In an industry that had come to define success based on sales and chart performance, Phish took a different approach, proving that the road less traveled can lead to better places. The band devoted their time and efforts to live shows and improvisation, growing a vast and dedicated following that has remained loyal to them over nearly three decades.
Phish has been considered a pioneer band, blazing the trail for a new wave of bands that are oriented around group improvisation and extended jam sessions. Together, Trey Anastasio, Mike Gordon, Jon Fishman, and Page McConnell have redefined what it means to find success in the music industry, remaining the de-facto leaders of the jam band movement.
