Soul singer Leon Bridges recently announced he would be touring the U.S. this summer in support of his sophomore album, Good Thing, which is due out on May 4.
The tour, which is named after the album, will feature an eclectic mix of special guests such as Jon Bastiste & Stay Human, the in-house jazz band for Stephen Colbert’s late-night talk show The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Also supporting is Khruangbin, a three-member alternative rock/indie band from Texas, and Masego, a “TrapHouseJazz” singer who combines sharp trap and smooth jazz with a South African sound native to his Jamaican background.
Bridges will be hitting the road with a June 9 show at his home state of Texas before stopping at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison on August 9. Other cities include Raleigh, San Diego and Chicago, with the tour concluding in New York’s Radio City Music Hall on October 5-6.
Bridges’ latest album already has two lead singles out to tease its release: “Bad Bad News” and “Bet Ain’t Worth the Hand” which have been well-received by critics and fans.
