Top performers.
Sure, it’s a big deal to make the top 5 list for overall concert tickets sold in America — but what about the top sellers for individual genres? We dove into the data to discover which artists in pop, country and alternative music topped their own charts.

Pop: Katy Perry

Is it really any surprise that Katy Perry is leading the way in the world of pop? With plenty of media hype and mystery surrounding the reveal of her Witness Tour, fans from across North America are nailing down ticket purchases before her tour sells out.

Witness is the first tour since the Prismatic World Tour, which kicked off in 2014 and wrapped up in May of 2015. Katy Perry first began touring in 2008 following the One of the Boys album — her 2011 California Dreams Tour arguably propelled Katy Perry into the realm of pop stardom.

Here’s the top 5 list for pop:

Katy Perry
Bruno Mars
Lady Gaga
Ed Sheeran
Roger Waters

Country: Tim McGraw & Faith Hill

What country music fan can resist a power couple, particularly when they’re among the most well known musicians in their field. The husband, wife country music duo is kicking off their Soul2Soul Tour — and fans across North America aren’t passing up the opportunity to snag a seat.

Reviews of the Soul2Soul tour have been fabulous, with Billboard recently referring to it as “energetic and sexy.”  The Rolling Stone magazine echoed that sentiment, stating in an April, 2017 article that Faith Hill and Tim McGraw are “undeniably at their best when collaborating.”

Here’s the top 5 list for country:

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill
Luke Bryan and Brett Eldredge
Florida Georgia Line
Sam Hunt
Zac Brown Band

Alternative: Depeche Mode

Depeche Mode announced the 2017 Spirit Tour, causing long-time fans to go on a concert ticket buying spree. Opening the tour in Sweden with a well-covered rendition of David Bowie’s “Heroes” could account for the uptick in sales this week. After the European tour, Depeche Mode is set to return to the U.S., starting in August at the USANA Amphitheatre in West Valley City, Utah.

The English band has been around since the 80s, with plenty of hit singles, including Personal Jesus, I Feel You and People are People, among many, many others. Depeche Mode’s unique electronic pop sound has allowed the band to craft itself into a truly unique musical ensemble. And for fans who have been listening throughout the decades, the Spirit Tour is another chance to experience Depeche Mode in all their glory.

Here’s the top 5 list for alternative:

Depeche Mode
Coldplay
Matchbox Twenty & Counting Crows
Fall Out Boy
Green Day
