Toronto Blue Jays Are The New Leader
As they make their way back into contention after a bad start to the 2017 season, the Toronto Blue Jays top this week’s Sports Hot 20. They’re only 1.5 games out of the last wild card spot, so the excitement north of the border is warranted. They overtook the Kansas City Royals, who continue to remain popular in one of America’s best baseball towns.
Following them in third: the Detroit Tigers. It’s a big jump for the Tigers, who landed at number nine last week. Coming into the week they are 6-4 in their last 10 games and only three games out of first place, so their play is definitely helping spur sales. Following them are the Texas Rangers and the Boston Red Sox to round out the top five. That makes three of the five teams in this week’s top five new to the list.
So…who dropped out of the top spots? The Yankees and Dodgers fell to sixth and seventh, respectively. Both teams are still hot, so don’t expect them to stay out of the top five for long. Also working in the Yankees favor: Aaron Judge. The monstrous power hitter is the kind of player fans go to see. If you’re in New York or the Yankees are coming to town, go early. Judge puts on a batting practice display unlike anyone else.

Wrestling, Monster Jam and Soccer Remain Huge
Outside baseball, we’re seeing WWE events continue to sell well. So does Monster Jam, which cracked the Hot 20 last week. International Friendly soccer matches are back on the radar again this week also. Look for them to make some noise and challenge baseball’s stranglehold on the Hot 20 as another series of matches approach at the end of June.
Golf: Which Day Is Most Popular
The U.S. Open golf tournament is being held this week at Erin Hills just outside Milwaukee. With competition being held Thursday to Sunday, we took a look at which days are the most popular for tickets. Friday ranks first, followed by Sunday, then Saturday and Thursday. Golf fans can keep that in mind as we head to golf’s next major on American soil: The PGA Championship at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Checking In On Broadway
