Who is GOT7?
K-pop boy band GOT7 emerged from South Korea in 2014, formed by K-pop training empire JYP Entertainment. In true K-pop fashion, GOT7’s sound incorporates a mixture of rapping, R&B, and layered harmonies alongside seamlessly choreographed and synchronized dance moves. The seven-member group made their mainstream breakthrough with the release of the debut EP Got It?, which peaked at the number two spot on the Gaon Album Chart and number one on Billboard’s World albums Chart in 2014. The boys would return to the top of the charts later that year with the release of their first full-length studio album Identify, followed by 2015’s Mad and Just Right, the latter of which housed their most commercially successful single to date, “Just Right.” GOT7 continued to top the charts with subsequent releases in recent years, including Flight Log: Arrival and Eyes, both of which sold over 300,000 copies each.
