The Mainstage at Apollo Theater is a historically famous, live entertainment venue in the Harlem neighborhood of New York City, New York. It’s famous, weekly-hosted Amateur Nights is credited with discovering and launching the careers of several of the biggest names in music history, including Ella Fitzgerald, The Jackson 5, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Lauryn Hill, Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday and countless others.

The Apollo is best accessed by public transportation, using a taxi or the NYC subway system (2, 3, A, B, C and D trains). If you choose to drive yourself, parking can be found in nearby lots and garages, as well as some street parking in the surrounding neighborhood.

The Mainstage at Apollo Theater draws an estimated 1.3 million visitors each year. It continues to host its famed Amateur Night, as well as performances and live broadcast by some of the biggest names in today’s music industry. The theater is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is considered a New York City Landmark.
