Singer, songwriter, pianist, writer, and performer Amanda Palmer was known as one half of the musical duo the Dresden Dolls before embarking on a solo career in 2007. Palmer is also known as one half of Evelyn Evelyn, another duo, as well as contributing to several musical side projects including collaborations with Ben Folds, Jherek Bischoff, Brendan Maclean, her father Jack Palmer, and her husband, writer Neil Gaiman. Palmer has released two studio albums as a solo artist, with her third titled There Will Be No Intermission due for release in the coming year. Her musical style has been characterized as “dark cabaret,” exploring elements of alt rock and punk as well.
