Meet Scott Stapp

Scott Stapp first stepped into the spotlight in the early 1990s, forming alt-rock group Creed in Tallahassee, FL in 1993. The group charged fearlessly into the new millennium, becoming arguable one of the biggest rock acts in the United States with their first three albums, My Own Prison (1997), Human Clay (1999), and Weathered (2001) achieving multi-platinum or diamond certifications. Creed dominated the rock charts on the strength of massive hit singles like “What’s This Life For,” “Higher,” “With Arms Wide Open,” and “My Sacrifice.” By 2004 the group had begun to part ways, with Stapp releasing his solo debut The Great Divide one year later. Creed reunited in 2009 and would release one more album, Full Circle, before disbanding a second time in 2012. Stapp released his second and most recent solo album Proof of Life in 2013. The singer is characterized by his distinct, guttural vocal style, which has earned him several awards and RIAA certifications.
