The Carnegie of Homestead is a historic entertainment venue in Homestead, Pennsylvania. It opened its doors in the late1890s as "The Lux" a theater used for vaudeville and silent movies. At the time, it was tragically destroyed by fire but was rebuilt shortly after as "The Music Hall." Today it remains one of the oldest operating entertainment venues in America. It has been hosting artists from all over for generations. In addition to showcasing top-notch talent, Carnegie offers various educational programs year-round and is dedicated to supporting local music education initiatives. The small-town atmosphere of Homestead (less than 3,000 people) is packed with charm. The business district has quaint shops, galleries, and eateries and is the ideal atmosphere for a night out. Visitors can enjoy dinner in one of the restaurants or venture to the nearby Waterfront for dancing and music at the nightclubs. The Great Allegheny Passage rail trail, which goes from Pittsburgh to Cumberland, Maryland, is close by. Additionally, many of Homestead's old historic buildings have been remodeled. They can be visited, including The Pump House building in West Homestead Sandy Creek Park and the Bost Building/Homestead Job Corps Center in West Homestead, both of which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Whether you're looking for a throwback to a more classic style of entertainment venue or want to take in some great music events, The Carnegie of Homestead Music Hall is worth a visit. With great acoustics, a unique atmosphere, and excellent seating, you won't regret seeing your favorite artist at this timeless musical landmark.
