The Marquis Theatre is one of Broadway’s newest venues, having opened in 1986 with the hit British musical Me and My Girl. Designed by John Portman, the theater was created to appeal to both audiences and actors, with a large backstage area, state-of-the-art acoustics and comfortable seating. The stage has hosted hit shows like Shogun: The Musical in 1990, The Goodbye Girl in 1993 and Damn Yankees in 1994. Most recently, the Marquis welcomed Annie Get Your Gun, Peter Pan, Forever Tango, The Capeman and On Your Feet! The Story of Emilio & Gloria Estefan.

The theater is located inside the Marriott Marquis Hotel, making it convenient for anyone wishing to stay nearby or dine on the premises. Located between Broadway and 8th Avenue, it’s easily accessible via the New York City subway system. Conveniently, there’s parking available inside the venue complex.

Visitors are advised to dress for a strongly air-conditioned room, but otherwise there is no dress code. Be sure to arrive promptly, as there could be a 10-minute wait for latecomers to prevent the show from being interrupted. For drinks and more, there’s a full bar and one Absolut bar on the orchestra level as well as on the mezzanine level. Only water and Absolut drinks are allowed inside the auditorium.
