The San Jose Sharks compete in the Pacific Division of the National Hockey League. They joined the NHL in 1991 with great anticipation by the area as well as fans from all over the country. The Sharks have always been stationed in San Jose, and there is no reason to think that this is going to change anytime in the near future. The fans have really taken to the team, and are proud of what they stand for.

The Sharks play their home games at SAP Center. This arena opened in 1993, and the Sharks promptly moved in. With modern amenities and features, fans immediately took to what this arena had to offer. And this still holds to this day.

Over the years the Sharks have done a nice job signing some top notch players. They include Owen Nolan, Jeff Friesen, Patrick Marleau, and Vincent Damphousee among many others.

The SAP Center (formerly HP Pavilion) is a modern indoor arena in San Jose, California. Since opening its doors in 1993 the HP Pavilion has played host of thousands of events including sports contests, concerts, and many other shows. This venue is also known as "The Shark Tank" or simply "The Tank" by some. But one thing is for sure. No matter what you call this arena it is one of the best on the western coast of the United States.

The SAP Center is named after the computer company, Hewlett Packard. The venue is currently home to three full time tenants. They include the San Jose Sharks of the NHL, the San Jose Sabercats of the AFL, and the San Jose Stealth of the NLL. It was given the nicknames listed above due to the fact that the San Jose Sharks play all of their home games here.

As far as capacity is concerned the SAP Center is on par with the other arenas in the country. For basketball games this venue can hold up to 18,500 people, for hockey 17,500, and for concerts and other shows up to 20,000.

Over the years there have been many memorable moments and events that took place inside the SAP Center. They include the NHL All Star Game in 1997, WWF Royal Rumble in 1998, and many more. This arena has also been the set for several movies and television shows.

The SAP Center is one of the nicest venues that you will come across. It does not get much better than this for any sporting event, concert, or show. If you ever have the chance to head inside for an event you should take advantage of the opportunity.
