Meet The Who
The Who is a rock and roll band from London, England formed in 1964. Founding members Roger Daltrey (lead vocalist) and guitarist Pete Townshend are the only founding members that remain from their legendary run as a group. The band has forever helped shape the history of rock and roll music with their revolutionary and wildly influential musical conceptions, primarily with the introduction of synthesizers and feedback and their overall creative and artistic style. The Who has sold over 100 million records worldwide and where rightfully inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.
The Who is arguably the first group to seriously push the boundaries of rock and roll. The guitar melodies and song writing of Pete Townshend, coupled with the revolutionary drumming style of legendary drummer Keith Moon, has heavily influenced rock bands over the course of multiple decades. The group was also the first to introduce ‘rock opera’ to the world with the release of their groundbreaking album ‘Tommy’. This classic album is set to go down in history as one of the best albums of all time. The Who undoubtedly will continue to be praised for their stunning accomplishments and massive impact on the world of rock and roll.
