General Motors Place Information:
General Motors Place is an indoor multipurpose venue located in Vancouver, British Columbia in the country of Canada. This venue was opened in 1995, and is sponsored by General Motors Canada. Since opening, General Motors Place has been known as one of the most modern arenas in the area. On top of this, fans love to watch events at this venue thanks to good site lines of the floor as well as a seating capacity that allows for a great experience.
At this time the Vancouver Canucks of the NHL is the only primary tenant of General Motors Place. With that being said, this venue has also hosted other teams in the past. They include the Vancouver Grizzles of the NBA, the Vancouver Voodoo of the RHI, and the Vancouver Ravens of the NLL. But although there is only one primary tenant playing home games at General Motors Place, this venue does not have a difficult time staying busy throughout the course of the year.
In addition to regularly scheduled Canucks games, many other events have taken place at General Motors Place in the past. They include 1998 NHL All Star Game, the 1998 NBA Draft, the U2 Vertigo Tour in 2005, and the 2006 NHL Draft. Additionally, General Motors Place is scheduled to host the ice hockey portion of the 2010 Winter Olympics.
As you can see, General Motors Place is much more than a venue that only hosts hockey games. It keeps busy by hosting concerts, special events, and shows as well. For this reason, the people of Vancouver always have something to do no matter what time of the year it may be. Seeing an event unfold at General Motors Place is a great experience. If you have the chance to buy tickets for an upcoming event you should consider doing so.
