Air Canada Centre Information:
The Air Canada Centre is located in downtown Toronto, Ontario, and is easily one of the nicest multi purpose arenas in the country. The Air Canada Centre, also known as the ACC, opened its doors to sporting events, concerts, and other shows in early 1999. Since then, hundreds of events have taken place inside.
To keep the Air Canada Centre rocking at all times, there are four major tenants. They include the Toronto Maple Leafs of the NHL, the Toronto Raptors of the NBA, the Toronto Rock of the NLL, and the Toronto Phantoms of the AHL. It is safe to say that without the Air Canada Centre that all of the sports teams would never be able to survive.
One of the biggest benefits of the Air Canada Centre is the way that it can be converted to host a number of different events; hence the name multi purpose arena. For NBA games the Air Canada Centre can seat almost 20,000 fans. For NHL games this decreases a bit to about 18,900 fans. Concerts are the same as basketball games, and there are even many theatre events that allow a little more than 5,000 spectators to pack the Air Canada Centre.
And speaking of theatre concerts, the Air Canada Centre has something special to offer. Within the larger Air Canada Centre, the Best Buy Theatre is located inside. This theater is used for concerts and family shows among many other events.
During 2008 the Air Canada Centre will undergo construction of the west side of the building. This will allow the Air Canada Centre to be connected to the future Maple Leaf Development.
The Air Canada Centre has a lot to offer spectators. In addition to modern amenities, the ACC brings in the best events year in and year out.
